2022 MHSAA Lower Peninsula Division 2 Boys Tennis State Finals

MUSKEGON – The 2023 Michigan high school boys tennis season came to a close this past weekend and several Muskegon-area boys tennis teams and individual standouts saved their best for last.

It was an especially memorable outing for Mona Shores senior standout Drew Hackney, who closed out his impressive prep career with a runner-up finish at No. 1 singles in Division 2, while Ludington standouts Charles Kolb (No. 2 singles) and Reece Ward (No. 4 singles) also reached the state championship round in Division 4.

  • Defeated Han Chau of Walled Lake Central (6-1, 6-1) in Round 2
  • Defeated Sam Schumacher of Portage Central (7-6 (5), 6-2) in quarterfinals

  • Lost to top-seeded Austin King of Midland Dow (6-2, 6-3) in state title match
