Given that Selena Gomez was widely known to have dated Justin Bieber on and off for a number of years, it’s possible that Hailey Bieber and Gomez will be forever linked in the eyes of the public. In recent weeks, however, the internet has scrutinized their alleged “feud” to the extent that Gomez has been forced to publicly defend her ex’s wife: on Friday, she issued a statement urging fans to stop bullying Bieber.

Gomez wrote on her Instagram Story, “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop. ❤️”

Recently, the two women have been accused of constantly making snarky references to one another on social media. Bieber was accused of ridiculing Gomez earlier this year when she posted a lip-sync TikTok video shortly after being criticized for swimsuit photos. Bieber stated in the clip, “I’m not saying she deserved it. However, God’s timing is always right.” Later, Bieber clarified that her TikTok “was not directed at anyone.”

Not long after, Gomez posted on TikTok, “So sorry my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”

As this drama drags on and on and on, we cannot help but implore Hailey and Selena to lay down their weapons. Justin Bieber is not worth it.
