SHOPPERS have been rushing to buy a “life-changing” energy-saving gadget to avoid turning on the heating.

The Online Home Shop is selling a heated fluffy blanket for just £29, and it costs 2p to run.

Customers have described the handy item as “life-changing” and said that it’s “amazing” for cosy nights in winter.

The throw is available online only on the retailer’s website or on Amazon.

It has a removable remote and a detachable wire, so you won’t get tangled up.

It also has nine heat settings and you can leave it on all night because the gadget has an auto turn off function.

You can stay warm for hours without breaking the bank too because the throw uses just 60W an hour so costs just 2p.

This means it could be a great alternative to putting the heating on as they’re much cheaper to run.

Recent figures from CheckaTrade show that the average cost of running your heating per hour is 7p per kilowatt-hour.

This means that if you have a 24kW boiler, it might cost you £1.68 an hour.

It means that if you have your heating on overnight for eight hours, it could cost you £13.44.

While OHS’ heated blanket costs just 13p to run for eight hours.

The winter warmer measures at 130cm wide and 160cm long.

It can be wrapped around people or used to cover a bed or sofa.

OHS has slashed the price just in time for the cold weather, it originally cost £38 but has had £9 taken off.

Ashley Furness, OHS head of buying, said: “You can stay warm for less this winter thanks to our electric blanket.

“This bargain for less than £30 will keep you cosy through the chilly nights and costs just pennies to use.”

Shoppers have been reviewing the item online.

One said: “This is a life changer, so lovely and fluffy and soft and it heats up quickly, so nice for cosy nights on the sofa.

“Amazing, I am loving it.”

Another wrote: “It’s very soft, doesn’t shed. The underside is a little thin but still a great blanket for the price.

“My pets love cuddling into it. It gets warm, but not too hot. Very good value for money and a decent size.”

A third commented: “Really good quality and the throw gets warm quickly we’ll worth the money.”

The blanket is machine washable too to make for easy cleaning and is made of faux fur.

Aldi is also bringing back its own throw to avoid putting the heating on too.

The energy-saving gadget causes a frenzy each time it returns to shops.

Now we can confirm that the Silentnight heated throw will be back on Aldi shelves from November 23.

It will cost £39.99, the same price as last year.

Remember, to always shop around when buying something like this as you might be able to find it cheaper.

Argos sells Slumberdown electric blankets with prices starting from £35.

Tesco is also selling a heated blanket for £20.

Heated throws and blankets do differ slightly so make sure you do your research before you make a purchase.
