SHERIDAN — Sheridan College and the WYO Theater are to host “silent discos” next week in collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the first events of their kind in Sheridan, said NAMI board members Charlie Falkis and Terri Markham.
“It’s like going to a music party, but everybody’s got headphones instead of the music being blasted through speakers,” Falkis explained. “It’s really great for folks who have sensory issues or noise and volume issues, so there’s that part of it, but we’re trying to put a mental health spin on it.”
