Bangalore, the epicenter of India’s tech region, has been chosen as the location for a new branch by simulation provider IPG Automotive. This will be the company’s first office in the country, enabling it to better cater for local customers and bolstering its international presence.
Heading up the facility as managing director will be Nagesh Poojary (above) who has strong credentials in autonomous mobility development, having held various senior positions in the automotive development arena. His primary responsibility in his most recent post, as leader of the safety product line at Continental in Bangalore, was leading the autonomous mobility unit with its systems and software business. He has many years of experience in the development of computer vision technologies, safety and camera solutions for ADAS. Poojary said, “IPG Automotive will be even closer to customers in India and [we will]support them to the best of our abilities on site. In the past, a sales partner was responsible for the Indian market, but now, we are handling business directly ensuring customer centricity. I am looking forward to this new task and to [being part of]the team that will help shape the future of vehicle development and mobility solutions.”

The new office is scheduled to open in December 2023.
Senior vice president and chief commercial officer at IPG Automotive Martin Elbs is positive about the growth potential in India: “The Indian market plays an essential role in the automotive industry. It is therefore necessary to open up this market with our own subsidiary, offering local support.”
