Siouxlanders showcase their business ideas at Siouxland Go’s 14th annual ‘Innovation Market’ event

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Siouxlanders had the chance to showcase their business idea, Thursday night, as a way to help jump-start their dream.

Thursday was Siouxland GO’s 14th annual ‘Innovation Market’ event. Every year, they hold this competition for those who want to showcase their business ideas.

The event is open to the public, where they can go around and learn about each idea. From there, they vote for their favorite one.

At the end of the event, the top 5 businesses are announced.

Siouxland Go, which is a nonprofit that helps provide tools and resources to young professionals, continues to hold this event to help build businesses in Siouxland.

“I think it’s important to keep businesses in Siouxland. So there are so many different opportunities to take businesses to bigger cities. And so we like to give back to our community and help keep those businesses here,” said Marisa Grove, the Innovation market Chair for Siouxland Go.

The top 5 winners were Interactive Museum, Orbit Creator Space, Sizzle and Syrup, Wander Wagon, and Worthlivin Wines. Those winners will move on to the next event on June 27th, where the top 3 will be chosen.

The top prize is $5,000, second place gets $2,500, and third place gets $1,000.
