SEASON OPENER
SIUE women’s tennis kicks off the season in Springfield against Illinois Springfield. The first serve is set for noon at the Springfield Racquet & Fitness.
COUGAR RETURNERS
Four SIUE players were selected to the Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Tennis Top 10. Jill Lambrechts is tabbed at No. 2 followed by Jordan Schifano (No. 3), Amelia Gorman (No. 5), and Margaux Guibal Britt (No. 6). The Cougars also return Fabiola Perez to the lineup.
NEWCOMERS
SIUE women’s tennis has four new faces with the additions of Cydney Rogers, Chloe Koons, Paula Guillen Cerver and Stefaniya Anikina. Rogers is a sophomore transfer from Jonesboro, Arkansas. Koons is a freshman from Edwardsville, Illinois. Guillen Cerver is a freshman from Valencia, Spain. Anikina is a freshman from Karaganda, Kazakhstan.
YEAR SIX
Adam Albertsen is in his sixth season as the head coach of the Cougars. SIUE has increased its win total in each of the previous five years. Last season, the Cougars completed play with a 17-5 dual meet record.
