Love is in the air and Valentines Day accommodates by landing on a Friday this year. If you’ve not booked your fancy dinner out, there are still some options that stretch through the weekend and into next week. From Flamenco dancing to Broadway show tunes, to new cars and motorcycles, this week’s events promise fun times with those you love.

Fall In Love with Flamenco

Espacio Flamenco promises two nights featuring the sights and sounds of Latin rhythm on stage at the Imago Theatre. Guest singer Juan Murube from Seville, Spain shares his powerful vocals while professional dancers create an evening of passion and romance.

Blockbuster Broadway

Is the love of your life a huge Broadway musical fan? This is the show for you. Deanna Tham conducts the Oregon Symphony in a program of treasured Broadway tunes from shows including “Hamilton,” “Jersey Boys,” “The Lion King,” “Wicked” and “The Phantom of the Opera.”

Skate Date

Strap on some wheels and promenade your love across the historic skate rink at Oaks Park. The Skate Date Package celebrates romance with two open skate times, meal vouchers, two drinks and a live DJ spinning top 40s and retro hits.

Promsi at OMSI

It’s like prom, but with no teenagers around. Grab a drink and roam the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry at your leisure. There will be science demos, performances, DJ music, and food and beverage vendors. No tux required! 21 and older only.

Oregon Truffle Festival (Astoria)

Astoria is hosting a celebration of truffles with a trio of events at the Liberty Theatre. There’s a masquerade ball on Valentines evening, truffle-themed movies Saturday, and a fresh truffle and mushroom education day Sunday. Visit the website for information, schedules, and tickets.

C3 GameCon (Corvallis)

Enjoy two days of gaming fun as Corvallis welcomes fans with plenty of RPGs, cosplay events, workshops, tabletop game play, and expert panels. Come celebrate your love of gaming with like-minded folks. All ages welcome, but those 13 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Cantores In Ecclesia Vocal Ensemble

Willamette University’s Rogers Music Center hosts an evening concert dedicated to the diverse and extraordinary music of Josquin de Prez (c. 1450-1521). Expect sacred music, and secular songs in the major languages of the day – Latin, Italian, and French. The concert includes commentary by Kerry McCarthy, one of the preeminent scholars on music of this period.

Oregon International Auto & Motorcycle Show

Addicted to that new car smell? Who isn’t? You can get a day full of it at the annual Oregon International Auto Show. Even if you’re not in the market for a new vehicle, the show offers plenty to look at and dream about. Other attractions include a Kids Zone, “The Garage” where you can learn more about customizing your vehicle, an adoption booth (for dogs, not kids), vendors for all things automotive, and a completely separate area for motorcycle fans. Kids younger than 9 are free each day.
