SkyEye video shows aftermath of apparent car explosion in Dickinson

DICKINSON, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after it appears a car caught fire and possibly exploded in Dickinson on Friday morning.

SkyEye flew over the scene in the 1700 block of Mackey Road, where video shows an extremely charred and damaged car parked in front of a home, next to a driveway.

Firefighters were seen dousing the vehicle in water. It appeared the fire had been extinguished.

Video shows multiple parts of the car blown off, including most of the trunk, the windshield, and the roof. The car was unrecognizable due to the damage.

Galveston County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. Investigators surrounded the vehicle with a perimeter of crime scene tape.

It’s unclear if anyone was injured. ABC13 has reached out to GCSO for more information.
