Slime Rancher 2 drops its first big content update of the year later today. Gadgets My Way is one of three major updates we know of for 2024, and revolves around gadgets and allowing you to customize Rainbow Island.

“We’re bringing players an entirely new gadgets system with our first content update of 2024: Gadgets My Way! A catalog of 36 new deco and functional gadgets obliterate placement restrictions! Customize Rainbow Island and play your way,” Monomi Park says. The devs have been teasing the new gadgets over on Twitter, as with the image above, and we know the Ferris Wheel will be one of those 36 new gadgets.

Slime Rancher 2 has three major updates on the way for 2024, and Monomi Park says Gadgets My Way “will allow players to more fully customize the world around them with the ability to place gadgets nearly anywhere in the world… Gadget sites will be a thing of the past allowing you to transform the Conservatory and the rest of Rainbow Island with new gadgets and decorations.” The next update is scheduled for summer, with a third for fall.

Slime Rancher 2 is also celebrating having sold one million copies. The game launched into Game Pass in September 2022. Slime Rancher 2 is still in Game Preview, and launched without achievements; game director Nick Popovich explained why achievements weren’t featured and discussed the practicalities of the decision. We’ll keep an eye out for when those Slime Rancher 2 achievements do arrive.
