Slipknot Reveals Drummer Jay Weinberg’s Departure


The famed heavy metal band SLIPKNOT has announced the departure of longtime drummer Jay Weinberg. On Sunday, November 5, the band issued an official statement via their social media outlets.

SLIPKNOT expressed their appreciation for Weinberg’s steadfast dedication and enthusiasm over his ten-year stint, as well as the incomparable sound, style, and energy that the late Joey Jordison provided to the band.

They did, however, acknowledge Jay’s substantial contributions to the band, particularly in their final three albums.

Jay Weinberg’s involvement with SLIPKNOT began as a pre-teen, when he was introduced to the band by his father, Max Weinberg, who is most known for his roles in Bruce Springsteen’s E STREET BAND and as the bandleader on Conan O’Brien’s talk show.

Jay’s close relationship with SLIPKNOT led to a spectacular audition opportunity as a substitute for Joey Jordison in 2013.
