SM Entertainment announced Monday that it had achieved consolidated revenue of 273.8 billion won and an operating profit of 33.9 billion won in the fourth quarter of 2024. This represents a 9 percent increase in revenue and a 275.6 percent surge in operating profit compared to the same period the previous year.
On a standalone basis, the company reported revenue of 181.8 billion won and an operating profit of 35.8 billion won, reflecting year-on-year increases of 11 percent and 83.2 percent, respectively.
The company attributed its revenue growth to increased merchandise and licensing sales, as well as higher concert-related earnings.
Additionally, expanded artist activities in Japan and increased drama series production contributed to the company’s higher revenue from key subsidiaries. The significant rise in operating profit was due to revenue growth at both the headquarters and affiliates, changes in the revenue mix and adjusted performance-based bonuses.
