Senior services will continue meal deliveries during a Sneads Ferry closure.
Onslow County officials have announced the Sneads Ferry Nutrition Site, located at 242 Sneads Ferry Road, will be closed on Wednesday, October 16, and Thursday, October 17, for essential repairs and maintenance of the parking lot. Regular operations are expected to resume on Friday, October 18. Senior Services will have a plan for the Home Delivered Meals distributed out to the site, which will not be interrupted.
Senior Services Director Clay Calhoun explains, “The Senior Services Nutrition Program plays a vital role in providing nutritious meals and essential social interactions for older residents. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming everyone back to Sneads Ferry on October 18.”
Reportedly, Onslow County is home to five nutrition sites located in Jacksonville, Belgrade, Richlands, Sneads Ferry, and Swansboro. These sites offer lunch to all individuals aged 60 and older, served Monday through Friday. All sites, with the exception of the Jacksonville location, are open from 9 AM to 1 PM. The Jacksonville location has extended hours as it dually operates as the Onslow County Senior Center.
Reservations for lunch must be made no later than 12PM the day before your planned meal. There is no cost for meals; however, donations are welcomed, with contributions helping to expand services. There is no obligation to donate.
