Sofia Vergara is being sued for allegedly failing to pay a large home improvement bill.
Last year, the Modern Family alum, 51, hired Reside Custom Homes to renovate her lavish $26 million Beverly Hills property.
However, according to court documents acquired by TMZ, the contractor recently filed a claim after Vergara allegedly failed to pay a bill of more than $1.7 million.
The Colombian-American actress, according to the lawsuit, contracted RCH to conduct some building work, which was substantially done by December 2022.
However, the company said that despite agreeing to pay for the project and an additional contractor’s fee, Vergara refused to compensate them.
Instead, she demanded more work, delaying the repair project until March of this year, when she moved back into the estate.
Sofia Vergara issues a statement in response to a multimillion-dollar lawsuit.
Vergara’s attorney, Marty Singer, reacted to the case, telling the Daily Mail that Vergara filed a claim against the corporation on October 4th.
“Sofia Vergara’s claims were for significant overcharging by Reside, substandard and negligent work, and long delays seeking damages in excess of $5 million,” he went on to say.
Singer said that RHC never refuted the charges and instead filed their own case.
