People who know Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello well are not surprised by their breakup because they have been living separate lives for a long time.

A source told Us Weekly that the star of “Modern Family” and the star of “Magic Mike” realized they were “rarely on the same page” and chose to end their relationship.

The source said that Vergara is “very social,” while Manganiello is “more of a homebody” and prefers to stay at home.

A source said, “Joe and Sofia split because they were living different lives. There wasn’t cheating or anything like that. They both realized that they were rarely on the same page.”

“She would rather go out with friends and he would rather stay home, so they wouldn’t spend a lot of time together,” the person said. “They’ve been living separate lives for about a year now, so it was time to call things off.”

After seven years of marriage, the couple said they were no longer together and asked people to respect their privacy.

In a joint statement, they said, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

Two days after they said they were breaking up, Manganiello filed divorce papers, saying they had “irreconcilable differences.”
