Sonora native Kyrsta Morehouse’s professional resume as a makeup artist in Los Angeles already includes work for celebrities like Iggy Pop, Mac DeMarco and A$AP Rocky, but now she’s stepping into the spotlight herself with the recent publication of her first book of poetry.

Morehouse’s “As Long as This Heart Beats” was released earlier this month by Beyond The Veil Press, an indie publisher based in Boulder, Colorado, that features solo authors and anthologies focused on mental health awareness.
