Certified technicians available for free car seat checks
SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac and Fond du Lac Fire Rescue offer car seat safety checks. Proper car seat usage helps keeps children safe. Many car seats are not used or installed correctly, and the variety of seats available can make it challenging to know which one to use.
A certified child passenger safety technician can check to be sure a car seat is installed properly. They also will teach parents to know how to use any car seat correctly. A safety check takes 30 to 40 minutes.
The service is free and available to all Fond du Lac County residents. The county also can provide car seats to families who may not be able to afford them thanks to a Bureau of Transportation safety grant.
To set up an appointment with safety technicians at SSM Health, call 920-926-5774 for Maria Vossekuil, Fond du Lac, or email Devan Nehls, Waupun, at [email protected]. To make an appointment with one of the technicians at the Fond du Lac Fire Rescue, call 920-322-3808.
