
Layden sisters help Purdue win exhibition
WEST LAFAYETTE — The Purdue women’s basketball team beat Division II school Quincy 106-45 in an exhibition game Sunday at Mackey Arena.
Former Northwestern High School stars Madison Layden and McKenna Layden had nice games for the Boilers. Madison is entering her fourth season with the Boilers while McKenna is a freshman.
Madison recorded five points, six rebounds, a game-high six assists and two steals in 24:00 of playing time. McKenna hit four 3-pointers for 12 points and also had five rebounds, two assists and a steal in 22:00.
Purdue visits No. 4-ranked UCLA on Nov. 6 to open the season.
Girls hoops season tips off this week
