BRAINERD — The CLC Performing Arts Center at Central Lakes College announced the lineup for the spring portion of its 2024-25 season. Featuring a mix of storytelling, comedy, family-friendly entertainment, and live music, these events reflect the center’s commitment to bringing diverse and engaging performances to the Brainerd lakes area.
Ali Sultan – Jan. 24, 7 p.m., Chalberg Theatre

Ali Sultan, a groundbreaking comedian, will take the stage with humor that reflects his journey from Yemen to Minnesota. Known for his appearances on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and Comedy Central, Sultan’s unique voice and perspective have earned him national recognition.
Kevin Kling – The Love Show – Feb. 15, 7 p.m., Chalberg Theatre
Minnesota storyteller Kevin Kling presents an evening exploring the many facets of love, accompanied by musicians and performers including Prudence Johnson and Claudia Schmidt. This program blends humor, music, and heartfelt stories into a thoughtful reflection on connection and community.
Dragons and Mythical Beasts – Feb. 16, 2 p.m., Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts
This family-friendly production invites audiences to step into a world of myths and legends. Featuring interactive storytelling and life-sized puppetry, the show brings creatures like unicorns, griffins and dragons to life in an experience designed for all ages.
‘It’s Murder, Don’tcha Know’ – Feb. 27, 28, March 1, 2, 7 p.m., Chalberg Theatre
Adapted from the novel by Jeanne Cooney by local playwright Mary Aalgaard, this comedic mystery is set in Hallock, Minnesota. The play follows Doris Connor as she navigates small-town drama, a family scandal, and an unexpected murder investigation.

The Fabulous Armadillos – Takin’ It to the Limit: Eagles Tribute – March 28, 7 p.m., Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts
The Fabulous Armadillos will perform an Eagles tribute concert featuring beloved classics from one of the most iconic rock bands of the 20th century.
‘Rent’ – April 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, Chalberg Theatre
The acclaimed musical “Rent” explores themes of love, resilience, and the power of community. Set in New York City, the show portrays the struggles and dreams of a group of young artists living in the shadow of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Kathy Mattea – May 2, 7 p.m., Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts
Legendary country and bluegrass singer Kathy Mattea will close the spring season with a performance featuring hits like “Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses.” Her decades-long career includes Grammy-winning music and heartfelt storytelling.
