St. Cloud man killed when car crashes, lodges underneath Publix semitrailer on US-192


ST. CLOUD, Fla. – A 28-year-old St. Cloud man was killed Tuesday morning when his car crashed into a Publix semitrailer that was making a U-turn on U.S. 192 in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal wreck happened on westbound U.S. 192 at Bradley Drive in St. Cloud.

According to an FHP crash report, the semitrailer was blocking the westbound lanes and was in the path of a 2022 Honda Accord. Troopers said the front of the Honda hit the side of the semi and went underneath the trailer.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene, the crash report stated.

The semitrailer’s driver, a 37-year-old Orlando woman, was uninjured, according to the FHP.

Westbound lanes of U.S. 192 are blocked in the area. Drivers can use Lake Lizzie Drive as a detour.

An investigation is ongoing.
