ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra announced their February line up and Cardinals fans will quickly recognize a collaborator for the Feb. 22 performance.

Adam Wainwright will make his debut with the orchestra performing baseball-related music and guests will enjoy special appearances by sportscaster Joe Buck and Cardinals organist Dwayne Hilton.

February performances include:

  • The Black Star Symphony, which is music by David Bowie with special guests and longtime collaborators

    • Date and time: Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

    • Location: Stifel Theatre, 1400 Market Street, St. Louis, MO 63103

  • Denève and the SLSO will showcase the world premiere of Anna Clyne’s PALETTE, a concerto for orchestra that uses emerging Augmented Orchestra technology. The program also includes Rachmanioff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with NIkolai Lugansky and Txhaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy

    • Date and time: Feb. 14 and 15, each at 7:30 p.m.

    • Location: Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, 1 Touhill Circle, St. Louis, MO 63121

  • Conductor David Afkham makes his SLSO debut conducting “Brahms’ Symphony No. 1,” “Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24” with pianist Saleem Ashkar, and debuts the first SLSO performances of Outi Tarkiainen’s “The Ring of Fire and Love.”

  • SLSO celebrates baseball with Double Play, featuring the SLSO debut of former Cardinals pitcher-turned-musician Adam Wainwright. Joe Buck and Cardinals organist Dwayne Hilton will make special appearances.

  • SLSO, St. Louis Symphony IN UNISON Chorus, and Grammy Award-winning Donald Lawrence will perform a celebration of Black musical expression in the annual Lift Every Voice concert

A shuttle service is available for all classical concerts starting at $15 per seat. Shuttles for performances at Touhill Performing Arts Center at UMSL depart from Plaza Frontenac and St. Louis Community College–Forest Park.
