St. Patrick’s Day Parade is downtown on Saturday, with food drive
The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 1 p.m. March 16, beginning at the Civic Center, down Central Avenue, ending at 8th Street.
The parade is organized by the Ancient Order of Hibernians-Great Falls Division and the Downtown Great Falls Association.
John Rummel is the grand master this year, followed by the first family, Sherri and Jerry Schmitz.
Sherri Schmitz dedicated much of her career to the Catholic schools in Great Falls and Jerry Schmitz has spent countless hours coaching within our community over 30 years, according to the Hibernians.
This year, the Hibernians are partnering with the Great Falls Food Bank and food collection containers will be placed at businesses from March 8-17.
The containers will be located at:
- Glacier State Electric
- Hometana
- Schulte’s 38th Street Store and Coffee House
- The Celtic Cowboy.
- Great Falls Central High School, Our Lady of Lourdes and Holy Spirit School will also have buckets to donate.
The food bank will also have a float in the parade with volunteers along the route collecting food donations.
Registration forms can are available on the Hibernians Facebook page for floats.
