St. Peters Health Partners joins CDTA’s Universal Access Program

ALBANY, N.Y. — St. Peter’s Health Partners recently joined the Capital District Transportation Authority’s (CDTA) Universal Access Program.

According to a news release, the program gives all employees at St. Peter’s unlimited ridership within CDTA’s service network. St. Peter’s employs more than 11,000 people in over 185 locations. Employees can use a CDTA Navigator card to access all bus lines.

“CDTA is once again excited to partner with a top employer in the Capital Region to provide mobility options for its employees,” said CDTA CEO Carm Basile in a news release. “With our extensive route network, St. Peter’s employees will be able to get to work no matter what location they report to. We’re thankful for essential workers in our community, like those at St. Peter’s, and we’re happy they will no longer have to worry about transportation during inclement weather or the cost.”

“Working in health care takes a lot of dedication. Our hospitals are always open – on holidays, during snowstorms, overnight and weekends. We are the 24/7 safety net, always here for our patients in their time of need. To meet that Mission, our colleagues need reliable transportation, and for some, that can be an added burden,” said Dr. Steven Hanks, President and CEO of St. Peter’s Health Partners and St. Joseph’s Health, in the release. “We are incredibly proud to partner with CDTA to provide this free Universal Access Pass to our colleagues, giving them transportation options to wherever CDTA goes.

“We hope it helps alleviate any travel stress our colleagues may have, whether they are traveling to work or throughout the Capital Region. Especially during this season of Thanksgiving, we want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this possible.”

The CDTA Navigator is not exclusive to the Universal Access Program. Anyone can download CDTA’s Navigator app from the Apple App or Google Play stores. The app includes features like trip planning, to help riders use the CDTA network to travel all over the Capital Region.

Currently, more than 40 Capital Region colleges and businesses are part of CDTA’s Universal Access program. For more information about CDTA services, visit, https://www.cdta.org/universal-access.
