For the second time in less than three years, the New Mexico Environment Department dinged another concrete manufacturer in the Taos area for operating an unpermitted concrete manufacturing facility for years.
The company, Taos Gravel, settled with state regulators at the end of October, agreeing to pay fines totaling $25,000 by the end of this month. It must apply for a concrete batch permit before Feb. 28, but will not have to pay the state $6,850 for “administrative compliance costs.”
