According to The Hollywood Reporter, Steven Yeun will not be appearing in Marvel Studios’ antihero picture Thunderbolts.

Yeun’s involvement in Thunderbolts was first mentioned in February, however Marvel did not formally disclose the cast.

During a five-month-ago D23 presentation, the firm revealed that the project would star Marvel veterans Wyatt Russell, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and David Harbour.

Thunderbolts, like several other tentpoles, was impacted by the simultaneous writers’ and actors’ strikes that occurred in 2017, wreaking havoc in Hollywood scheduling. Thunderbolts filming, which was originally expected to begin in July 2024, has been pushed back to July 2025.

Thunderbolts, directed by Jake Schreier, is said to assemble a cast of Marvel villains and antiheroes.

Yeun already has a huge following in the comic book business as the voice star of Amazon’s version of the Robert Kirkman comic, Invincible.

He rose to prominence as one of the main characters on The Walking Dead, and his Netflix short series Beef is up for an award this season.

In addition to contending for actor in a limited series at the Emmys later this month, he will compete for best male actor in a limited series at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

This year, Yeun will appear in Mickey 17, directed by Bong Joon Ho, and Love Me, a Sundance film starring Kristen Stewart.
