The United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) issued a February 22nd news release stating it is providing $53,099,000 to Arkansas for its Clean and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds (collectively, “SRF”).
The funds will be made available to upgrade drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
EPA describes the funding as part of a $50 billion investment in water infrastructure upgrades from the Biden Administration Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
The SRF is a state-run, low-interest loan program used to enable communities to fund such infrastructure. The Arkansas Natural Resources Conservation Service operates the SRF in the State of Arkansas.
