Giovanni Pernice made his first public appearance since his celebrity dance partner departed this season’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The 33-year-old Italian dancer was photographed wearing a black jacket despite reports that his partner Amanda Abbington departed the BBC competition after becoming “fragile and frazzled” as a result of his “tough” training sessions.

It has been asserted Strictly insiders are “not surprised” by the withdrawal of the Sherlock actress from the competition.

Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to resign from the competition, Fleur East revealed on It Takes Two on Monday night. A spokesperson for the BBC series added, “Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition. The show wishes her all the best for the future.”

Giovanni was fast to “send so much love” to Amanda on Instagram following the announcement, but it is now rumored that the Italian dancer and the actress did not get along very well behind the scenes.

Amanda omitted Giovanni from her Tuesday morning Instagram post, instead thanking production staff and “everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring.”

Gorka Marquez wrote in the comments beneath the post, “We will miss you,” and Jowita Przystal echoed her colleague by telling Amanda, “Take care darling we will miss you ! Sending lots of love.” Giovanni has yet to like or remark on the Instagram post of his celebrity partner.

On Monday night, the Italian performer who won the Glitterball trophy in 2021 broke his silence on Instagram regarding Amanda’s departure.

Sharing a photo of himself and Amanda taken backstage at Movie Week, Giovanni wrote, “Amanda ..I am so sad we can’t continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love.” Amanda has not yet liked or commented on Giovanni’s remembrance.
