Even though rain fell during the 2023 Bakersfield Black American History Parade, it failed to dampen spirits.

“Last year it rained but it didn’t ‘rain on our parade,’” said Gloria Patterson, who heads up the parade committee. “That didn’t stop us from being out there and celebrating.”
