WHAT HAPPENED. YEAH, ZACH, THAT 39 YEAR OLD SUSPECT, ACCORDING TO THIS ARREST AFFIDAVIT, WANTED REVENGE BECAUSE AS POLICE SHOT HIS COUSIN IN CLEVELAND COUNTY. NOW, POLICE COULDN’T TELL US THE NAME OF HIS COUSIN, BUT THAT SUSPECT ALLEGEDLY TOLD MULTIPLE PEOPLE ABOUT HIS PLAN. BULLETS ACTUALLY CAME INTO THE CAR, HIT PARTS OF THE CAR, LOOKS LIKE EVEN THE COMPUTER INSIDE THE CAR WAS HIT BY GUNFIRE. THIS VIDEO SHOWS THE SCENE WHERE AN OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE OFFICER PATROL UNIT WAS STRUCK BY GUNFIRE ONE WEEK AGO. THE OFFICER INSIDE HIT BY SHRAPNEL TO HIS ARM. IT APPEARS EITHER SOME FLYING GLASS OR A PIECE OF SHRAPNEL MAY HAVE HIT HIM IN THE ARM. THE OFFICER WASN’T SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER THE SHOOTING AND NOW THE SUSPECT IS BEHIND BARS. DOCUMENTS SAY A MAN TOLD POLICE HE WAS WITH THE SUSPECT EARLIER THAT DAY AT A LOCAL GAS STATION WHEN HE SAYS A POLICE OFFICER WAS ALSO IN THE GAS STATION AND THE SUSPECT WANTED TO, QUOTE, SHOOT A COP IN THE HEAD AFTER HIS COUSIN WAS SHOT BY POLICE. WHILE HE DIDN’T SHOOT THAT OFFICER, HE LATER SHOT AT AN OFFICER’S PATROL CAR. DOCUMENTS SAY A SECOND BULLET DEFECT WAS FOUND IN THE OFFICER’S TRUNK. PLUS SIX NINE MILLIMETER BULLET CASINGS AND A NINE MILLIMETER PISTOL WERE FOUND AT THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX ON WEST WILTSHIRE BOULEVARD AND LEAWOOD LANE WHERE THE SHOOTING HAPPENED. THE AFFIDAVIT ALSO DESCRIBES A GROUP OF JUVENILES THAT WATCHED OFFICERS PROCESS THE CRIME SCENE. ONE JUVENILE TOLD POLICE HE TALKED TO A MAN WHO SAID HE KNEW THE SHOOTER AND THAT THE SHOOTER HAD SAID HE WANTED TO, QUOTE, POP A COP. THEN FLEE TO LAS VEGAS BECAUSE HIS COUSIN WAS SHOT BY POLICE IN CLEVELAND COUNTY. NOW, THAT SUSPECT IS IN THE OKLAHOMA COUNTY JAIL ON A $5 MILLION BOND AND FACES POSSIBLE CHARGES FOR SHOOTING WITH INTENT TO KILL, ASSAULT AND BATTERY WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON AND POSSESSION OF A FIREARM AFTER A PREVIOUS FELONY CONVICTION. New documents revealed the motive behind why a suspect shot at an Oklahoma City police officer’s car last week. The suspect, who is now behind bars, allegedly wanted to kill an officer as a form of revenge. They also said “six 9mm bullet casings” and a “9mm pistol” were found at the suspect’s apartment complex on West Wilshire Boulevard and Lyrewood Lane, where the shooting happened. The affidavit also describes a group of juveniles that watched officers process the crime scene. One juvenile told police he talked to a man who said he knew the shooting, saying the shooter wanted to “pop a cop then flee to Las Vegas” because “his cousin was shot by police in Cleveland County.” The suspect faces possible charges, including shooting with intent to kill, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of a firearm after a former conviction of a felony.
