NEWTON FALLS — A swearing-in ceremony for Newton Falls newly elected public officials will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Newton Falls Methodist Church, 336 Ridge Road.

Ohio Supreme Court Justice Melody Stewart will give the oath of office to mayor-elect David Hanson and new members of village council and the board of education.

New members of village council are Patricia Benetis and Brian Axiotis and new member of the board of education is Mark Stimpert and reelected member Teresa Oakes.

Retired Youngstown State University president and coach Jim Tressel will provide a talk on working as a team. There also will be musical interludes.

The event is open to the public.
