Sydney Sweeney Unveils the ‘Ideal Double Feature’ for Valentines Day

Sydney Sweeney has something that “brings everyone together” on Valentine’s Day.

The actress just made her theatrical debut with Madame Web and a special re-release of Anyone But You.

The R-rated romantic comedy, starring Sweeney and Glen Powell, opened during the holidays and grossed more than $170 million worldwide. The cinema is now showing the Valentine’s Encore version of the film.

“I just want to thank everybody for loving it as much as we enjoyed making it,” Sweeney remarked at the Madame Web premiere on Monday night.

“People want something that pulls everyone together, where they may laugh and cry, sing and dance, and simply have a common sense of delight. “It’s been absolutely incredible.”

The special edition re-release will include an additional four minutes of material.

“We added a few little things here and there for people if they want to come back and see some secret stuff,” Sweeney said. He went on to say, “It’s the perfect double feature.”

Sweeney stars in the Sony and Marvel film Madame Web as Julia Carpenter, one of three teenagers (along with Isabela Merced and Celeste O’Connor) who are destined to become superheroes—if Cassandra Web, played by Dakota Johnson, a paramedic who discovers she has clairvoyant abilities, can protect them from a deadly foe.

Over Presidents Day weekend, the S.J. Clarkson-directed film is predicted to gross between $22 million and $25 million.

Sweeney expressed her hope that viewers, particularly young women, will connect with the film’s uplifting message at the premiere.

“You can choose your friends and family; you can be empowered without supernatural powers; and you can do anything you set your mind to,” Sweeney stated.
