First Half
7:08 remaining: Syracuse 31, New Hampshire 13
JJ Starling lit things up in the Dome with a nice alley-oop toss to SU center Peter Carey. Good to see Carey out there and making an impact now that he’s healthy. That could give Autry a nice 1-2 punch at center with Naheem McCleod.
The Wildcats continue to struggle on the offensive end, missing its first nine shots. New Hampshire is shooting, including 1-of-11 from beyond the arc.
11:47 remaining: Syracuse 23, New Hampshire 6
We were promised man-to-man defense and up-tempo ball and we have certainly seen that so far. Autry has also put nine players on the floor already, and that’s with Benny Williams not even available tonight.
Syracuse has already put a 15-2 run together against the Wildcats.
SU is shooting 56% (10-of-18). The Wildcats are 3-of-15 (20%). Chris Bell leads the Orange with five points. Both Judah Mintz and Quadir Copeland have scored four.
14:58 remaining: Syracuse 17 , New Hampshire 4
Chris Bell is off to a quick start at the Dome with five points, including a smooth 3-pointer.
Judah Mintz had the first electric highlight of the season with a steal and slam. Mintz also zipped a pass up court and found an open Justin Taylor for an easy lay-in. He has four points so far.
Syracuse was on an 8-0 run into the timeout.
New Hampshire has started cold, shooting 2-of-11 early on.
Pregame
6:53 p.m. Adrian Autry walks out to a nice applause from a sparse opening night crowd to the song “I Got the Keys” by DJ Khaled.

Hello Syracuse basketball fans! We’re ready for the dawn of the Adrian Autry era here at the JMA Wireless Dome.
I’ve already spotted Orange legends John Wallace and Lawerence Moten here court side, which is appropriate seeing that Syracuse is going to wear the old school script uniforms tonight against New Hampshire, which is also a nice nod to Autry’s time as a player at SU. They are posed in the photo below with Eric Devendorf, who is on the streaming call of tonight’s game on ACC Network Extra.

As for the game, it’s already been reported this afternoon by Donna Ditota that junior forward Benny Williams will not play tonight. Williams has been suspended for a violation of team rules. He also did not play in SU’s second exhibition against College of St. Rose.
Syracuse center Maliq Brown went through warm-ups and will be available tonight. He sat out the St. Rose exhibition due to precautionary reasons with a lower-body injury.
