TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBMA) — With the holiday season right around the corner, people often become more aware of those in need, but in reality, the need is all the time.
Table of Grace is open and operated by Grace Presbyterian Church and funded by donations from the community.
The market style food pantry is available to families in need three days a week, year-round with holiday exceptions.

For parents to looking to feed their families, Table of Grace offers a different concept by having the option to select the food they need once a month, instead of pre bagging groceries.
West Alabama Food Bank CEO Jean Rykaczewski said in these coming holiday months people tend to show up and donate more but it’s important to understand that hunger is a yearly problem.
“Everybody wants to let everyone have a great Thanksgiving experience, but we are finding this year, we are serving just as many people as we did during covid. It’s just not in the short period of time, our numbers are actually higher this year than covid numbers,” said Rykaczewski.
The Alabama Department of Public health stated one out of four children in Alabama doesn’t have regular access to enough nutritious food, making food insecurity a real problem.
