Taos Municipal Schools Superintendent Valerie Trujillo plans to step down from her position at the end of the year for medical reasons, she announced Friday.
Trujillo went on medical leave starting Tuesday and made the announcement in an email to staff.
Following Lillian Torrez’ announcement in June 2022 she would resign as superintendent, the district’s board of education appointed Trujillo as interim superintendent and chose her about a year ago to take on the permanent role.
