EAST TAWAS – With the reopening of the Tawas Bay Art Gallery in East Tawas after renovations were completed, gallery artists have announced their student of the month.
Tatiana Daly is the Student of the Month for April. Tatiana is a senior at Whittemore-Prescott High School, and studies under art teacher Brenda Butler. Tatiana describes herself as a diverse artist based in Prescott, explores whimsical pop culture and surrealism through loose painting, drawing, digital art, and fabrication. She has embraced her artistic side and dedicated nearly a decade to developing her art skills.
Her work seeks to captivate the viewer by telling stories to make them ponder. She is drawn to portraying personal experiences with an eclectic vibe and use a wide variety of art materials to create and express her vision. In this time of AI generated work, she hopes her art sparks inspiration, curiosity, and appreciation for human-created art.
Whittemore-Prescott’s art program seeks to expose students to a wide variety of artistic mediums and techniques while allowing them to add their own creative flair. Students explore history through art to gain an appreciation for past time periods and styles, which can inspire future work. The goal is for students to experience success, celebrate their perseverance, and leave art class feeling well-rounded and confident in continuing to explore any artistic passion they may have developed.
