Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift Reunite in ‘I Can See You’ Video and Onstage

In a new music video, Taylor Swift asks an ex to help her and her art get out of trouble.

Taylor Lautner, who was in Twilight and dated the singer for a few months in 2009, joins The Act star Joey King on a mission to save the pop star and the framed cover art of her 2010 album Speak Now in the official clip for the new song “I Can See You.” The song is one of six new ones on her re-recorded album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), which came out on July 7.

Swift wrote and directed the action-packed video, in which Lautner and King make their way through a museum dedicated to Swift, dodging security laser beams and fighting enemies until they reach the singer stuck in a vault. In the clip, actress Presley Cash plays the communications head for the people who saved her.

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is Taylor Swift’s third album. It is part of her plan to re-record her first six albums after her former company, Big Machine, sold the master recordings of her catalog in 2019.

Swift wrote on Instagram on July 7: “I wrote this video treatment over a year ago and really wanted to play out symbolically how it’s felt for me to have the fans helping me reclaim my music. I had my heart set on @joeyking, @taylorlautner and @helloimpresleycash starring in it. Joey and Presley had been in the video for ‘Mean’ when they were 9 and 13, and they are back and so ridiculously bad ass!!”

Both the old and new versions of Speak Now have the song “Back to December,” which Swift wrote about Lautner after they broke up. Unlike the words of another song that was re-recorded, these lyrics haven’t changed.

Swift shared a picture of herself, Lautner, and her ex’s wife, Taylor “Tay” Dome Lautner, acting out a Spider-Man meme. She used the photo to announce the movie’s release and compliment Lautner and Taylor “Tay” Dome Lautner.
