Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is taking her all over the country right now. But will the 33-year-old singer sing on the world’s biggest stage next year? Hits Daily Double says that Swift has turned down the chance to be the main act at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show. On February 11, 2024, the big game will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
When the Super Bowl ended its 10-year relationship with Pepsi, people started talking about Swift performing at the game in 2024. Athlon Sports says that Swift has been locked into a long-term marketing deal with Coca-Cola, which is a competitor of Pepsi. In September of last year, the NFL revealed that it had made a long-term deal with Apple Music. This means that Swift could be the main act at a show in the future.
Swift is set to play at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, on the international part of her Eras Tour the day before Super Bowl LVIII. It’s possible that’s why she turned down the offer, but we don’t know for sure yet. Swift has been a part of the Super Bowl Halftime Show for a long time because she is one of, if not the most popular artist in the world.
The guys would enjoy it if Swift ever played at the Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers, QB for the New York Jets, went to her show at Met Life Stadium in May. Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, also went to see Swift play and tried to give her his number.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” Kelce said on the podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. Travis Kelce also said, “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings.”
At the halftime show, the NFL is known for having the biggest stars perform. This year, Rihanna was the main act, and Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar were the main acts in 2022. The Weeknd, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, Prince, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, and Michael Jackson are some other acts who have performed at the championship game.
