An unfortunate Taylor Swift fan in Melbourne found herself in a frustrating predicament after paying a high price for VIP tickets with no view of the stage.
Swiftie, who was attending the pop sensation’s concert at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, revealed that she paid $800 each for what should have been premium seats, only to find that her view was hampered by a large crew and sound mixing tent.
The fan vented her dissatisfaction on TikTok, posting a video from her seats in section M20, between rows G, H, and I, displaying the obscured view.
Captioning the video with “POV: You pay $800 per ticket for VIP Taylor Swift tickets and you can’t see the stage,” she expressed her dissatisfaction with the situation and contacted the ticketing platform, Ticktek.
However, there was a small silver lining to the event. The fan then stated in the comments that she and her sister were shifted to another restricted area with a better view following an hour-long conversation with five different supervisors.
“Took an hour of talking to 5 different supervisors, but we could see the stage which was all that mattered,” she said.
Despite the outcome, she was surprised by the event, noting, “Didn’t think paying for VIP would get us restricted seats.”
Fans voiced disappointment after paying exorbitant sums for tickets only to receive a substandard experience.
Commenting on the event, one user wrote, “My worst fear… How is it even possible…”
Another person pointed out the disparity, writing, “Yet I’ve seen people posting about $75 restricted view seats with perfect view.”
