Taylor Swift’s yearly Fourth of July party is back and better than ever. The pop star is spending her “single summer” with her best friends and having a great time.

It’s been a while—seven years, to be exact—since fans last saw the singer have friends over for the Fourth of July holiday. This year, the 33-year-old made a holiday comeback with the help of her best friend Selena Gomez and other squad members like Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim.

Swift posted pictures from her Fourth of July party with her friends on Instagram on July 7. She wrote, “Happy belated Independence Day from your local neighborhood independent girlies. See you tonight Kansas Cityyy.”

HAIM, who have worked with Swift on songs and will soon join her on her Eras Tour, also posted pictures from the party on Instagram with the caption “Single summer.”

Swift may have celebrated Independence Day with her friends, but it’s also a good time to see where her relationships stand after two high-profile breakups. She just broke up with 1975 singer Matty Healy after a month-long whirlwind romance. It began soon after she and her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn broke up after six years together.

But the low-key celebrations were a return to form for the “Anti-Hero” singer, who used to throw a star-studded Fourth of July party every year at her beachfront home in Watch Hill, Rhode Island.

Before this week, the last time Swift posted pictures from a party like this was in 2016. At that party, her then-boyfriend Tom Hiddleston wore an “I [Love] T.S.” tank top and hung out with her, her friend Gigi Hadid, and the wives of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, who were expecting the second of their four children at the time. The guests had a great time splashing around in the ocean together and going down a big inflatable water slide on Swift’s property.

At Swift’s Independence Day party in 2015, there was also love in the air. Ed Sheeran, who is friends with Taylor Swift, told People that he and Cherry Seaborn, who is now his wife and who he has known for 15 years, started dating after they went to the event.
