Christmas is looming which means many shoppers are on the hunt for a saving to snap up in the November 24 Black Friday sales, especially those with a pricey Apple, Google, or Samsung device on their shopping list. As someone who scours tech pages for a living, these are the Amazon pages you need to save if you’re looking for a price drop on the newest iPhone 15, Galaxy S23, pair of wireless earphones or the newest Macbook laptop.
Whether it’s treating yourself to a new tech gadget or shopping around for a loved one’s gift, there are ways you can make a huge saving. While a lot of the main tech brands don’t drop their official Black Friday deals until closer to the date, Amazon has some sneaky ways you can beat the rush and save on the price too.
From hidden discount codes to price drops on overstocked items, these are the pages you need to look out for.
Samsung token that’ll give you £150 off Galaxy S23
Fancy a new Galaxy S23? Well Amazon has cut the price of this 2023 handset thanks to a hidden voucher deal. Technically this isn’t a page to save but it’s a perk of shopping around Amazon’s voucher codes. The retailer has already dropped the price from £899 to £849 and a closer look shows you can get a further £150 off if you apply for a voucher just before you head to the checkout.
And if that wasn’t enough Samsung is currently offering a £100 cashback deal for all S23 shoppers, so once you’ve bought the device on Amazon you can head over to the Samsung Store and get even more money off. This bring the price down to just £599, around £200 cheaper than rival retailers.
Amazon’s ‘secret’ overstocked page
Unknown to many shoppers there’s now an overstocked page on Amazon which lists all products at a discounted rate in a bid to sell them quickly. While you can find anything from Nike trainers to carry-on suitcases it also happens to stock a lot of tech gadgets for a fraction of the price.
It’s not easily seen from the main Amazon homepage but a quick tap into the Outlet section is where you’ll see the redirection to the Overstock Deals page. A quick look here and you can get £50 off a pair of Bose QuietComfort Headphones just because there’s too many of them stocked on Amazon’s site. Yes, the retailer has dropped £51.95 off the pair of wireless headphones dropping the price from £349 to £298.
While it’s highly unlikely you’ll find the latest Samsung or Apple iPhone 15 here for sale it’s a go-to place for tech accessories. Like this Anker portable charger or wireless doorbell – an alternative for Amazon’s own Ring Doorbell range.
Amazon Warehouse is a go-to for Apple
A second-hand phone may be on many shopper’s lists this season especially if you’re looking to cut the cost. Amazon Warehouse is a well-known site for shoppers on the lookout for a pre-loved gadget, and it’s where you can currently find an Apple iPhone 14 for a fraction of the price.
The purple 128GB iPhone 14 can be picked up for £603 in new condition – this means Amazon has tested the product to verify it works as well as a brand new device out of the Apple Store would. Having covered deals on Amazon Warehouse before, a lot of the time ‘refurbished’ items haven’t even been opened before but have to be sold second-hand if they have small damage to their package or boxes.
I beelined for the 2022 device as it’s high up on many people’s lists although Samsung, Google, Nokia devices can be found here too. Like this Google Pixel 7a which is £389 on the Warehouse page.
Use CamelCamelCamel to get cheapest Apple products
Sometimes waiting a few months is your best bet to paying the lowest possible price and a quick look at price comparison site CamelCamelCamel shows that those with particular Apple devices on their shopping list may want to wait. Including AirPod shoppers, as Amazons current £129 price is £30 more than its cheapest ever rate. A look at the site shows that the retailer has previously sold the wireless duos for £99 in September this year.
While Apple products are known for high price tags the history tracker is a great way for tech shoppers to know if they’re paying the cheapest possible rate. All you need to do is copy and paste the Amazon product url into the CamelCamelCamel search engine and you’ll know if it is worth your money or not.
Testing it out on the Apple Watch SE, currently listed on Amazon for £219 shows that it has never been sold for cheaper, so shoppers would have peace of mind they’re not missing out on a discount. The same can be said on the 2022 10.9-inch iPad which is on sale on Amazon for £449, and CamelCamelCamel shows its cheapest rate recorded is £464, so shoppers can be sure they’re walking away with the best rate from the retailer.
