Teen brothers arrested after firing shots during fight after high school basketball game

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two teen brothers were charged after shots were fired into the air during a fight after a high school basketball game Tuesday night in the Blackman High School parking lot, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

RCSO said the brothers are facing several charges after one of them allegedly fired shots into the air during a fight.

“The juvenile brothers were charged with reckless endangerment, carrying a weapon on school grounds and possession of a stolen gun,” said Detective Andrea Butler. “They are being held at the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center.”

One of the teens was allegedly robbed by the victim last year, Butler said. Threats were made during the Blackman and Riverdale High School basketball game. A fight then began outside after the game.

No one was injured and no damage was reported in this incident. Neither brother is a student at Blackman or Riverdale. Both of them were located and arrested after the altercation at their home.

“I appreciate the working relationship with Murfreesboro Police Department officers who apprehended the two suspects and made every effort to do a welfare check on the victim,” Butler said.
