Teenager dies after losing control of car, crashing in Woodbridge, police say

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (DC News Now) — Police said a 17-year-old boy died after he lost control of his car, crossed over the median and hit another car.

The crash happened on March 10 around 3:45 a.m. at the intersection of Richmond Highway and Easy Street.

The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said an investigation showed the teenager was driving southbound on Richmond Highway in a 2016 Toyota Corolla at a “high rate of speed.” He then lost control of his car, causing it to cross over the median into the northbound lanes, where he hit a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica.

The teenager died there. The driver and passenger of the Pacifica were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

PWCPD said the teenager’s speed was a factor in the crash.
