Teens arrested for throwing party and stealing car from Cape Coral home

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Cape Coral Police Department said they arrested two teenagers who threw a party in an empty Cape Coral home Saturday night.

Police said the teens also stole the homeowner’s car and drove it to get food at McDonald’s.

Just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, CCPD received a call from a woman who said someone was throwing a party inside her house without her permission.

She said the party throwers were two teens, 17-year-old Xavier Scott and 16-year-old Bailey Rogers.

Morgan Quarnaccio is the homeowner. Savannah Canada is her daughter. They both said they took Scott in when he was having a hard time at home. They said he was supposed to be dog-sitting at her house but decided to throw a rager with Rogers instead.

“I was outraged because I helped the kid… I mean, I took him in and I helped him out and he disrespected every part of my house,” Quarnaccio said. “I had to bleach and disinfect my entire house.”

They said they found out when the two posted pictures of themselves partying with the house address on social media.

Police responded to the home on Southwest 18th Avenue. At this time, the teens were on their way back from McDonald’s, driving the stolen car.

Quarnaccio said the teens knew police were headed to the house so they abandoned the car on a street near the home.

Police used their aviation unit and found Scott hiding behind a fence near the woods. The abandoned car was found nearby.

“I thought it was gonna be in a canal or demolished but thankfully we got it back and a lot worse could’ve happened,” Quarnaccio said.

Police later arrested Rogers. Scott has bonded out, but Rogers is still in juvenile detention.

Quarnaccio’s daughter said thousands worth of her belongings were stolen from inside the home. They are still missing.

“They had taken a few pairs of my Jordans, they had taken another pair of my shoes and then threw all my clothes on the bed and took some hoodies,” Canada said.

She said the house was trashed.

“I walked in and there was a white substance, which the cops said it was molly but there was it was all over the countertop, there was weed in the countertop, there was cigarette butts all over the countertop,” she said.
