Texins Jazz Band featuring Christian Tamburr Nov. 12 at McKinney Performing Arts Center


Christian Tamburr is a multi-instrumentalist, accomplished on the piano and trapset as well as world and orchestral percussion. However, his true talent is exhibited on his instrument of choice, the vibraphone, where Downbeat Magazine awarded him “Outstanding Solo Jazz Performer.”

Having performed with many jazz legends including Kenny Barron, Billy Drummond, Clark Terry, James Moody, Milt Hinton, Benny Green, Bucky Pizarelli, Kevin Mahogany, Nicolas Payton, Slide Hampton, Bob Mintzer, Dick Hyman, Mark Murphy, and Eric Marienthal, Christian has been a guest artist with Dave Brubeck, a solo percussionist with Michael Feinstein, and opened for Harry Connick, Jr.

Christian will perform with two local big bands: Texins Jazz Band is a Dallas, TX based nonprofit big band now in their 37th year. They have performed with many jazz greats including Clark Terry, Phil Woods, John Pizzarelli, Kurt Elling, Wayne Bergeron, Delfeayo Marsalis, Frank Mantooth, Blue Lou Marini, and Tom Bones Malone.

The Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra (GDYO) Jazz Orchestra features some of the best local high school musicians in the DFW area.

This is a family friendly concert presented by the Texins Jazz Band.

Tickets are general admission, $30 for adults & seniors, $15 for children/students age 6-22.
