QUAKERTOWN, Pa. – A store selling jeans, dresses, sweaters and other fashions is bidding farewell in Bucks County.
The Rustic Camo Boutique, offering women’s clothing, shoes and accessories, will hold its last day of business on Dec. 16 at 109 W. Broad St. in downtown Quakertown, according to an announcement on the boutique’s social media pages.
A store closing sale, featuring 30% off all items, is underway.
“This is probably one of the hardest things I have ever done,” owner Brooke Beers announced in the online post.
“The boutique will be closing permanently on December 16th. At this time, I’m not relocating. I don’t know what’s next for The Rustic Camo Boutique, but I hope you will bid your farewell to the storefront. It has been one wild ride since I started the boutique! I went from working out of an office and doing pop-ups to expanding into my first storefront and then on to the second.”
The Rustic Camo Boutique previously operated for about a year at 8794 Easton Road in Ottsville before moving to downtown Quakertown in late spring.
In relocating the business to Quakertown, Beers of Springfield Township was looking to gain more foot traffic and join a growing downtown Quakertown business scene, which includes the Trolley Barn Public Market and new businesses such as Moon Rabbit Collective boutique, Raw Replenish cafe, The Phittest gym, Frederick’s Downtown Market and U Need It Variety.
She is grateful “for all the friends and customers that now feel like family.”
“I have been able to help you find clothing for those special occasions in your lives, like bachelorette parties, weddings, baby showers, etc.,” she announced.
“Many of you have shared special things with me as well! I just hope that I have made the same impact on some of you as you have on me. I will never regret starting the business! If you know me personally, I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit! I will still keep the page and group active. I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me the last couple years!”
Beers, a 2018 graduate of Palisades High School, has long been interested in fashion and hand-picks more than 90% of the store’s merchandise from United States and international manufacturers.
Customers can shop new dresses, jeans, activewear and a wide array of tops, including sweaters, blouses, T-shirts and tank tops, among other items. A wide variety of sizes, including plus sizes, are available.
Popular styles vary by season, and the boutique also sells shoes, handbags and accessories such as jewelry, scarves, belts and hats.
“We carry sizes small through 3X, and sometimes extra small,” Beers told WFMZ in the spring. “In jean sizes, we have anywhere from a size 0 up to a 24W, which not everyone carries. So, it’s nice to have a wide range.”
Beers named the boutique “Rustic Camo” as a nod to one of her favorite pastimes, hunting.
“Camo is just short for camouflage,” Beers said. “I started hunting at a young age, and I actually shot a pretty big buck my first year. So, I’ve always had that love of hunting and just figured that I’d incorporate it into the boutique’s name.”
The Quakertown space that Rustic Camo Boutique is vacating has another tenant lined up, Beers said in a separate post on the business’ Facebook page.
“The new tenant will make the announcement when they are ready!” she wrote.
