1. Japanese Artist Tadashi Kawamata Creates an Installation for Liaigre

Just in time for Paris+ par Art Basel, Liaigre’s opulent mansion on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré is sporting a new look courtesy of influential Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata, who has affixed a tangle of reclaimed wooden chairs to the front of the elaborate structure. Titled “Nest in Liaigre,” the installation also carries on inside, where spontaneously assembled piles of additional furnishings include desks, tables, and drawers—inviting visitors to contemplate each space differently. The spirit of the exhibition even encompasses the stairwells thanks to Kawamata’s creation of diminutive nests made of wooden sticks adorning the walls, suggesting a songbird might fly out at any moment. —Geoffrey Montes

3. Baha Mar Announces Lineup for Culinary & Arts Festival

White-sand beaches, gourmet food, an extensive display of Caribbean art, and exquisitely appointed accommodations—it’s a weekend agenda hard to resist. Such is the planned programming for Baha Mar’s upcoming Culinary & Arts Festival and companion FUZE Art Expo, a first-of-its-kind installation of regional visual arts organized by Baha Mar Art Director John Cox, taking place October 27–29. During the festivities, guests can enjoy live printmaking demonstrations, interactive art classes, a film series, and panel discussions while also perusing artworks by myriad native talents working across mediums. Away from the gallery scene, a mouthwatering exploration of various cuisines will transform the property into a decadent smorgasbord of epicurean delights by Marcus Samuelsson, Scott Conant, Carla Hall, Kentaro ‘Katsuya’ Uechi, Geoffrey Zakarian, and more with craft cocktails aplenty. Adding to the “feast for all the senses” atmosphere, the event kicks off with a live performance by Sting, proving once again, it is indeed better in the Bahamas. —Jill Sieracki

Now, the company has turned its creative lens toward a new home on Jubilee Place in London’s Chelsea neighborhood. Turning a former art gallery into a visually stunning canvas for its multifaceted collections, Cole & Son’s first-ever flagship displays a large selection of the house’s wall coverings, textiles, and “ready-to-style” finished goods, as well as an invitation-only archive room containing vintage designs, wood blocks, and archival documents. “We are thrilled to open a space not only for architects and interior designers, but also anyone who wants wallpaper, to give them somewhere to simply enjoy what they see,” says Marie Karlsson, creative and managing director at Cole & Son “It’s a home for dreams to come true.” —J.S.
