Apple’s 10th-gen iPad is the spiritual successor to the older ninth-gen model. In exchange for its revised design, landscape-oriented webcam, USB-C port, larger 10.9-inch screen, and faster processor, it ditched the headphone jack and got more expensive. Read our review.
The latest iPad Air retains the iPad Pro-esque redesign of the 2020 model but does away with the A14 Bionic processor in favor of Apple’s fast M1 chip. It also comes in one of five colors and boasts a 12MP front-facing camera with support for Apple’s Center Stage feature. Read our review.
Apple’s latest iPad Pro comes with the faster M2 processor and supports Wi-Fi 6E but otherwise shares the same design as its predecessor. The larger 12.9-inch model sports a higher-quality Mini LED panel than the 11-inch version.

The Kobo Elipsa 2E is an ad-free 10.3-inch e-reader you can write on with the included stylus. It’s our favorite ebook reader for taking notes thanks to useful features like the ability to convert handwriting to typed text and a great selection of pen types.

- The eight-inchKobo Sage — a newer, non-Amazon alternative to the Kindle Oasis — is on sale for $239.99 ($30 off) directly from Rakuten’s Kobo online store. The high-end e-reader features physical page-turning buttons and USB-C, along with stylus support so you can take notes. Its eight-inch display is relatively cramped compared to the Kobo Elipsa 2E’s, however, so we wouldn’t recommend it as a primary note-taking device.
The second-gen Apple Pencil ditches the awkward Lightning port charging, adopting a magnetic charging mechanism that attaches to the side of the latest iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad Mini models. It also supports tap gestures.
- Speaking of the iPad, both the ninth-gen and 10th-gen models are only compatible with the first-gen Apple Pencil, which is also on sale for $79 (about $20 off) at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy. Unlike the second-gen Apple Pencil, you’ll need to charge it by plugging the stylus directly into the iPad’s Lightning port.
The Xencelabs Pen Tablet is both stylish and innovative, offering users a choice between different styluses.
OnePlus’ first tablet punches above its weight thanks to excellent performance, great build quality, and a terrific 11.6-inch LCD display that offers up to 144Hz refresh rates. Read our review.
The second-generation XP-Pen Artist 12 is a good all-rounder for folks who want an affordable display tablet for everyday sketching and editing. The programmable buttons are also a good first step into learning how to utilize macros and hotkeys with creative software.
Amazon’s highest-end tablet features an 11-inch LCD display with 2000 x 1200 resolution as well as options for an add-on keyboard and stylus. Read our review.
The 2023 Fire HD 10 sports a 10.1-inch 1080p display and 3GB of RAM, which is plenty if you’re streaming or browsing. It’s lighter than the last-gen model, too, and comes with support for both the Made for Amazon Stylus Pen and Amazon’s handwriting recognition technology.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro remains Apple’s largest laptop for creators and power users. The latest model includes a spec bump to the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips, with a claimed battery life of up to 22 hours, and is configurable with up to 128GB of RAM.

It may be a bit of an “enigma” for a base model entry in Apple’s MacBook Pro line, but think of it more as a souped-up MacBook Air.
Apple’s latest Mac Mini starts with an eight-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. The M2 model is a great desktop for everyday use, with terrific performance and a nice port selection, though you will have to supply your own mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Read our review.

The ROG Zephyrus G14 is an astonishingly good gaming laptop for its size. Its AMD Ryzen 9 processor and 40-series GeForce RTX GPU can push powerful, smooth graphics performance in games with its QHD display while also being surprisingly efficient for other tasks.
The LG Gram 17 is a good laptop for fans of big screens, offering a 17-inch display while still being surprisingly lightweight. This particular model runs on Windows 11. Read our review.

For a great robot vacuum that can mop and doesn’t require a huge auto-empty dock, get the Roborock S8. With dual rubber roller brushes, 6,000 Pa suction, and a flat mop that vibrates 3,000 times a second to simulate some good old-fashioned scrubbing, the S8 is a mean cleaning machine. It can sense carpets, lift up its mop, and has Roborock’s best AI-powered obstacle avoidance. There’s still no camera, though. It works as a standalone vacuum or pairs with an auto-empty dock, but you must manually fill its (sizable) water tank.
- The Roborock S7, the S8’s predecessor, is also on sale at Walmart for $285. This was our former pick for the best robot vacuum / mop combo before the S8 took its place. This is the first Roomba that can refill its own mop as well as empty its bin, and the new self-empty / fill dock has a stylish design that can also act as a side table.

A brilliant bargain for a robot vac that can avoid most obstacles (not cables or pet waste), pick up pet hair with 3,000 Pa of suction, and mop your floors with an aggressive oscillating action. A true budget bot with no bells and whistles, just a determination to get the job done. With a two-hour runtime, decent-sized bin, and tank-like wheels that can get over most large obstacles, the Shark is a good workhorse for a low price. It’s loud and will get tangled on cables, but the app is easy to use, and it works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for voice and smart home control.
The Shark (also known as the Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1) is a cheaper robot that self-empties its bin, vacuums, and mops. It mops very well — doing a swingy, scrubbing movement with its rear end when in “Matrix mode.” You have to manually fill and attach the mop reservoir and empty the bin when it mops — as it only self-empties in vacuum mode, and it can only avoid larger objects.
- Amazon is discounting the Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1 (also known as the Shark Matrix) to $249.98 ($200 off), which is the lowest price we’ve seen on the budget-friendly robot vacuum / mop hybrid. This is just the robot without the auto-empty base. It’s a little loud but has good suction, a great app, and a laundry list of features (including mapping).
This is the first sub-$1,000 bot that can do everything, just not quite as well as the top-of-the-line options. It vacuums, mops, self-empties, fills its mop reservoir, and cleans and dries its oscillating mops. It can map, has virtual keep-out zones, and works with voice assistants. But there’s no AI-powered obstacle avoidance, and its single roller brush isn’t as effective as the double ones on the j7 and S8.
- The Roborock Q5 Pro is $319.97, down from $429.99 at Amazon. An excellent midrange vacuum, it packs 5,200 Pa suction power and two rubber roller brushes that are great at picking up pet hair. It’s not fancy, but with a huge 770ml bin with big wheels to get up on higher-pile carpets, it’s a good option for families with pets.
