Fashion week is, of course, all about the shows and presentations—a chance for designers to debut their creations and set trends for the months to come. But over the years, the days-long event has turned into a behemoth that extends far beyond the runway. Now, you can expect an overload of parties—ranging from classy cocktail hours to sit-down dinners to Brooklyn raves—running concurrently with the fashion week calendar. This year is no different. In fact, the celebrations are already underway. Things kicked off on Tuesday with a party held by Hourglass Cosmetics and Barneys New York in honor of the brands’s new concept store. Then, on Wednesday, Longchamp hosted Joey King, Maren Morris, Coco Rocha, and more at Location05 in Hudson Yards. Some of those in attendance had to then hop downtown to 1 Bond Street, where LuisaViaRoma inaugurated their flagship store with a party and performance by Charlotte Lawrence.
And that’s just the beginning. Coming up, we have after parties for brands like Willy Chavarria and Grace Ling, as well as a Luar fête thrown in conjunction with AmEx. On Thursday, AirMail is joining forces with Bloomingdale’s for an evening celebrating Italy at The Academy Mansion, while the 3rd annual Kering Caring for Woman Gala—likely to feature many A-list attendees—will take place on September 9. Check back here often as we update you with the latest.
Boucheron New York Store Opening
Maison Boucheron celebrated a trip overseas for the opening of its first New York City boutique with a party at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum on Tuesday, September 10. Gwyneth Paltrow, Colman Domingo, Hailee Steinfeld, Cole Sprouse, and more guests gathered in sparkling offerings from the jeweler while taking in “From Paris to New York: A Cutting-Edge Journey Since 1858,” an immersive installation about Boucheron’s 166-year history.
Paltrow attended the event in a plunging black dress—to better display her diamond-covered necklace, naturally—while Domingo’s draped top created the perfect frame for his cat-adorned lariat. The bejeweled guests showed off their wares while enjoying a special performance by Grammy Award-winning artist Leon Bridges, also decked out in Boucheron jewels.
Thom Browne Spring 2025 Dinner
Thom Browne eschewed the typical runway show this season for a much more intimate dinner party at The Commerce Inn in the West Village. The American designer celebrated his spring 2025 collection with a select group of friends of the brand. Actor and writer Cole Escola acted as cohost for the event, which saw guests dressed in Thom Browne’s latest designs.
Escola contrasted their shocking blue hair with a bright red tweed skirt and jacket set, while Addison Rae went for a simpler ensemble in a white cotton ultra-mini shirtdress. Florals came into play on Havana Rose Liu’s gray suit jacket and white pleated skirt, while Issa Rae showed off some very patriotic stripes. Of course, Browne’s dachshund, Hector, was heavily represented, in the form of leather bags, and throughout the room’s decor.
Guests enjoyed dinner at candlelit banquet tables before St. Vincent treated everyone to a performance of three songs, enjoyed by Martha Stewart, Patti Lupone, and the rest of the attendees.
Frame Dinner
California fashion brand Frame hosted its seasonal NYFW dinner at Mr Chow in midtown Manhattan on Monday night. The event brought together models, musicians, and actors for an evening of cocktails, Chinese food, and fun. Alix Earle, the newest Frame campaign star, flew in from Miami for the evening, and she was joined by the former face of the brand, Amelia Gray, as well as models Lila Moss, Taylor Hill, and Joan Smalls.
Former J. Crew creative director and current Real Housewife, Jenna Lyons, was also in attendance; she opted to turn the event into date night, arriving alongside her photographer girlfriend, Cass Bird.
Saks and Loewe Celebrate Fall/Winter 2024 Collection and New York Flagship Takeover
Jonathan Anderson and Saks Fifth Avenue transformed the Pace Gallery terrace into a rooftop garden on Saturday, September 7 for a dinner honoring Loewe’s fall/winter 2024 collection, as well as the brand’s current takeover of Saks’s flagship location.
Of course, many of Loewe’s muses were in attendance at the event, including Greta Lee and Tracee Ellis Ross. Dressed in Anderson’s designs, guests enjoyed the sunset while sipping cocktails, followed by a three-course meal from One White Street’s chef, August Johnson. The tablescapes were decorated with Loewe candles, as well as whimsical arrangements containing flowers and vegetables referenced throughout Anderson’s collections.
Other attendees included Evan Peters, Morgan Spector, and Myha’la Herrold, who took some time from promoting her smash hit third season of Industry to celebrate Anderson and Loewe.
Myth Magazine Launch
Stylist Haley Wollens tapped one of her most high-profile clients, Chloë Sevigny, to help launch her new, highly conceptual magazine, Myth, on Saturday, September 7. During the event, the two women posed in front of a faux Myth cover page, which boasted headlines like “I’m not like other magazines” and “Magazines are a myth,” a peek into the ethos behind this less-than-traditional digital publication.
Emily Ratajkowski, was also in attendance, and she cuddled up to her fellow model, Mariacarla Boscono, a first-issue contributor along with Sevigny and Telfar Clemens.
Guests enjoyed the evening at Holiday Bar in Greenwich Village, where they sipped Champagne and martinis. Sevigny’s longtime friend Natasha Lyonne also stopped by, and the two pouted for the camera while showing off their contrasting looks.
Guest in Residence x Caviar Kaspia Dinner
Gigi Hadid spent the evening of Thursday, September 5 engaging in a time-worn New York Fashion Week tradition: eating caviar at The Mark Hotel in Manhattan. The model and entrepreneur was celebrating her cashmere brand Guest in Residence’s collaboration with Caviar Kaspia—celebrating, of course, with an intimate dinner at the Caviar Kaspia restaurant inside The Mark. Supermodel Helena Christensen was in attendance, and stopped for photos with Hadid, who was clad in pieces from her collection.
Stylist and fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson sat next to Hadid at dinner, flashing a pair of cashmere socks from Guest in Residence between bites.
Veronica Beard Dash Bag Launch
Camila Morrone hit NoHo that same evening in an all-black ensemble fitting for NYFW’s city-slicker aesthetic. The cause for celebration? Veronica Beard’s party at The Nines, to fete the debut of the designer’s new Dash handbag.
Shailene Woodley and Jillian Rose Banks (the singer-songwriter also known as BANKS) hit the party, too—with BANKS making a special musical performance for guests including Sophia Bush, Amandla Stenberg, and G-Eazy.
Bulgari Studio
On Wednesday, September 4, Bulgari held a cocktail party at the penthouse of the Domino Sugar Factory in Brooklyn to celebrate the unveiling of its new Tubogas collection. Dakota Johnson, Naomi Campbell, Damson Idris, Paris Jackson, and more stars spent the evening exploring the expansive space, where the jewelry brand had set up glass cases filled with shimmering baubles.
Campbell, who wore a dress accented with feathers and a wavy bob, stopped for photos at the step and repeat. Later in the evening, the crowd was treated to an intimate, live performance by the musician Masego. While he played piano, a kinetic light sculpture called THE WAVE by designer Christopher Bauder and his team at studio WHITEvoid, curved and bent above the songwriter, flashing red and white.
Johnson and Idris snapped pictures in an area that was cordoned off for VIPs.
LuisaViaRoma New York City Flagship Kick-Off Event
Matt Damon and Luciana Damon turned LuisaViaRoma’s flagship store opening into a date night, matching in black tops at the event the same evening.
In fact, it seems like black may have been the dress code, as models Amber Valletta and Helena Christensen attended the party—held at the new store on 1 Bond Street—in black dresses, which they showed off for the camera while posing together.
It was Charlotte Lawrence who brought the color to the guest list, performing for guests in a green sundress as they enjoyed the vintage furniture that fills up the space, along with a series of still-life paintings by Curtis Kulig—the first of many art installations within the store to come.
Longchamp Fall/Winter 2024 Celebration
We may be gearing up for the spring 2025 season, but Longchamp is still celebrating fall 2024. On Wednesday, September 4, the French leather goods brand invited guests including Joey King (pictured here) to a party at Location05 in Hudson Yards in honor of the brand’s most recent collection and Le Roseau bag.
Also in attendance was model Coco Rocha, who posed in a bright green room, which looked to be Charli XCX-approved.
Of course, all the guests wore pieces from the fall/winter 2024 collection. Many, like singer Maren Morris, carried the brand’s bag of the moment, Le Roseau.
Hourglass Cosmetics and Barneys New York Concept Store Launch Party
It’s always a celebration when Barneys returns to the scene in some shape or form. So it’s no surprise that on Tuesday, September 3, Katie Holmes and Alek Wek were all smiles when celebrating the opening of Hourglass Cosmetics and Barneys New York concept store.
The event took place at the Elizabeth Street Gardens and 14 Prince Street, where the concept store will live until October 11. There, guests, including Emily Ratajkowski, entered a surreal space, featuring a golden port-a-potty and life-size Hourglass brush heads.
Teyana Taylor was also in attendance, ignoring the heat of the evening in acid wash, bell-bottom jeans and a leather motorcycle jacket.
Ella Emhoff fit in among the kooky decor in a colorful knit sweater and green, wide-leg pants.
