The Controversial 2019 Sale of Taylor Swift’s Father Netted Him $15.1 Million

It might be hard for Taylor Swift to get past this one.

According to a story from Music Business Worldwide, which DailyMail picked up, Swift’s father Scott Swift made $15.1 million when her catalog was sold to Scooter Braun in 2019 under controversial circumstances.

At the time, Braun, who was 41 at the time, bought Taylor Swift’s original record label, Big Machine Label Group, for $330 million from the 60-year-old owner, Scott Borchetta.

In 2019, a rep for a 33-year-old singer said that her father didn’t know about the deal and didn’t know what was going to happen to tell her.

The representative didn’t say anything about a nondisclosure deal, the outlet said.
