CLINTON, Ind. (WTHI) – The Friends of Ernie Pyle hosted a show tonight taking inspiration from WWII-era entertainment.

The group transported people back in time with WWII-era entertainment and dinner at South Vermillion High School in Clinton. Performers included students from both north and South Vermillion High Schools, professional musicians, a military band and more.

Proceeds will raise money for the group’s latest project and the Ernie Pyle and veterans memorial park.

“I believe anytime you have a project that honors the veterans, and that honors their families, it means so much to people here. that’s really the crux of what the Ernie Pyle WWII museum does. Not only does it continue the Ernie Pyle legacy, but it also continues to honor veterans,” said board member Max Jones.

The park will also feature an already commissioned bronze statue of Ernie Pyle created by Clinton sculptor Bill Wolfe.
